TELUS Future Suite Enables Telecom Service Providers
to Offer Software as a Service Business Bundles in as little as 90 Days
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and VANCOUVER, B.C., Dec. 10, 2007 – Jamcracker, the on-demand services company, and TELUS, a leading multi-national telecommunications company, today announced that they have partnered to bring to market TELUS Future Suite, a Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery infrastructure for communications service providers. TELUS Future Suite provides telecom, cable and Internet service providers with a fast turn-on and profitable solution for bundling, reselling, and supporting dozens of new on-demand applications for business customers.
According to industry research firm Gartner Inc., the market for on-demand services will reach $19.3B by 2011. However, building a delivery, billing, and support infrastructure for on-demand services is a costly, complicated, and multi-year project. TELUS Future Suite was created to allow service providers to begin offering bundled on-demand collaboration, mobility, and security software applications in as little as 90 days. TELUS Future Suite integrates with a carrier’s existing network infrastructure and capital expenses can be as little as zero.
"Telecom carriers recognize the market opportunity presented by on-demand software services, but the technical, financial, and opportunity costs associated with building or purchasing an in-house delivery infrastructure have been a major obstacle," said Brent Allison, VP Partner Solutions Marketing for TELUS. "TELUS Future Suite removes the barriers to entry that until now have prevented all but the largest service providers from offering value-added software services."
Mix and Match Applications
TELUS Future Suite provides a complete set of best-in-class IT and business application services backed by a customer support call center. These on-demand services can be sold individually or as a bundle, and branded by carriers as their own. TELUS Future Suite provides a unified provisioning and billing platform, from which service providers can deliver:
"TELUS is a trusted provider of value-added communications services to carriers in North America, many of whom are interested in delivering on-demand software applications to increase customer retention, profitability, and competitive differentiation," said Steve Crawford, vice president of marketing for Jamcracker. "TELUS Future Suite, with Jamcracker’s support, enables these carriers to quickly go-to-market with a broad array of new value-added services, without impacting their network operations or requiring major financial investments."
TELUS Future Suite is powered by the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JSDN), which eliminates the need for costly and complex technology investments. JSDN is a completely outsourced on-demand services delivery solution that includes branded eCommerce portals, order management, unified provisioning of multiple services, single-sign-on for end-users, billing reconciliation and settlement, branded call center support, and access to Jamcracker’s wholesale catalogue containing hundreds of on-demand solution offerings. "The Jamcracker eco-system is perfectly suited to delivering existing best-of-breed applications," added Allison, "as well being an efficient channel to market for TELUS' extensive catalog of proprietary applications and e.tools that are in demand by both service providers and their customers."
